Well they weren't crying Wolf this time. We're sitting on 7 and a half to 9 inches depending on where you measure. And for the first time in a long time I think you can safely say we are Snowed In. This Weekend Storm was well Forecast by the Weather Service and covered in the media so hopefully everyone was prepared. Temperatures aren't going to allow for melting and we may well get another inch or 2 Tuesday.

Sophie had to wait for me to force the Storm Door open and then she hopped out into the white stuff and immediately clawed her way back inside. I already had the puppy pads in the proper place and dutifully my 2 good little doggies implemented plan B. Or maybe it's plan P. A few hardy souls with short driveways and who got out early made their way to the Hospital so we're both home for our 26th Anniversary.

Bottom line in at least the Southern half of Tennessee is try to stay home and don't bend up any sheet metal or get hurt. Now here's the official Forecast from the NWS.

Today: Snow likely. Cloudy, with a high near 31. East northeast wind between 5 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Tonight: A chance of snow and freezing drizzle. Cloudy, with a low around 27. Northeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Tuesday: Scattered snow showers. Cloudy, with a high near 33. West wind between 5 and 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Tuesday Night: Scattered snow showers. Cloudy, with a low around 18. Northwest wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Not much relief before Wednesday and then it's getting much Colder. This Snow will be here for awhile. Stay Safe and Warm.

Happy New Year has come and gone and this morning it was back to reality. We opened the door to a relatively mild 38 degrees and a good layer of clouds. Not much going on this time of the year but we're feeding a lot of birds. "At least ours aren't falling dead out of the sky." Skies cleared about mid day but are returning this evening. We have at least three weather events lined up for the next seven days and starting tomorrow some Rain and maybe a bit of Sleet here and some Snow Showers in the northern counties. Another dose on Friday and the first of next week is the one to really watch. Meanwhile we won't be as brutally cold as we were last month so maybe we will not have travel problems.
The Flu season is kicking in and there is a couple of Intestinal Virus's floating around so remember, GermX is your friend. Now here is the scoop from the NWS for the next few days.

It's Overcast and a warmish 51 degrees here in Northwestern Bedford County this morning. We're expecting Rain later today and possibly heavy tonight as a Front passes through here this evening. Some strong Storms are possible and it looks like some folks West of here are seeing damaging storms and Tornado's so be aware of the weather as we ring in the New Year.
Outdoors here this morning is a bit breezy but mild compared to the last few weeks. My young Corgi Jack Russell mix, "Sophie", is nearly 10 months old now and finally able to trek the puppy dog trail with Missy and in fact she has mostly assumed the Alpha status. Missy could care less as long as she gets to assume the Recliner dog status with me. When it's time for them to come in I just tell Sophie to fetch Missy and she herds Missy up and they head for home. "Really makes my job easier." The harsh December has most all our vegetation dormant and we've had to put in a second bird feeder to keep all our Finches fed.
So be on the lookout tonight and have a happy new year. This 2010 was a year of change, but change for the better I think. Now for the facts.

It's steamy Hot here in Middle Tennessee as it well should be this time of year. The Calendar finally caught up to what we've experienced through most of June and our mid 90's daytime Highs are really fairly normal for this time of year. Generally we don't get much relief at night either unless you catch a Pop Up shower near Sundown. The Grasses are slowing up in the Heat and it's the lucky folks who have a Well to water their Garden. A ride around the County and Southern Middle Tennessee "and I do that a lot" reveals that Soybeans and Corn are doing real good and we had a generous first Hay Cut and anticipate another before too long. So while we've had a lot of Heat we've had just enough Rain as well. Latter July and August can be dry so we have to Pray all goes well but so far Summer is not atypical this year. On the Home front the doggies really appreciate the AC "it's good to be a house dog" and Sophie is growing by leaps and bounds. Nothing is safe now that she can jump on the sofa so we're beginning to enforce some discipline and she's getting some time outs in her Kennel. Work is holding up and we hit the road fairly early everyday. Some days reeeeelly early but we aren't complaining. So life is still lumbering along. Hurricane season is well along now and we can expect some more action soon. BP hopes to cap the leak next week which will be good news and while the Beaches will not be that hard to clean up I'm worried about the Wetlands and Louisiana. Sun comes up early this time of year and with the Rain from last night it's muggy early this morning. We're looking at more Shower chances this afternoon much similar to Friday's round of Thunder and Lightening. Here in Northwest Bedford County we received 1.33 inches in our dusty Rain bucket. Our 40 day long spell of blistering weather will continue for a few more days but maybe we can get a break in the heat next week. Of course by now our normals can range close to 90 degrees so the suffering will continue for awhile. The Cool Front that is expected next week could likely trigger some strong storms next week so keep a weather eye out for that. We had some pretty stout electrical activity here yesterday and several lightening strikes in Shelbyville had to be investigated by the Fire Department but I don't reckon anything burned down. On the outdoor scene here we hit the trail pretty dang early these days but most all our haunts are holding up well in spite of the heat. Our grass mowing has suffered some but it's too hot to mow much unless you're really young and well hydrated. I don't know how some of those Lawn Mowing Service guy's do it. And in fact a few have had some Heat related problems here this week and been to the Emergency Room. The year is nearly half over now. Our Weather has been from one extreme to the other and that may not change for awhile. However the El Nino is easing up and maybe we can have some pleasant weather for the 2nd half of the year. In the Gulf it's not looking much better. Water temps are high and Tropical wave development is taking place. It's just a matter of time I guess. So here is the Forecast and outlook for the next several days. We are looking forward to the 4th of July and it won't be long now to Christmas. LoL.

It's HOT and getting hotter. We've picked up a few showers here and there over the last few days but with few exceptions those haven't cooled us down for long. Hot nights and hot days have a way of taking a toll on you. We're looking at lower chances of showers for Sunday and Monday and possibly into the middle of the week. The High's will run upper 90's to near 100 for the weekend and early next week. Once the atmosphere gets this Hot it just doesn't cool off easily. We have a wave of showery weather crossing the State this Saturday morning but once that passes look for less chances of convection and drier weather for a few days. Convection picks up Wednesday or Thursday and some showers return. But, for the most part we're not seeing a end to this current pattern.

Our friends down on the Gulf of Mexico are more than ever in desperate straits as more Oil is coming on shore and of course more is coming out of the "Hole". I'm hoping that some day the beaches return to normal in appearance but the ecosystem will be damaged for a long long time, especially in the Louisiana wetland's. Oil does break down over time and there is a Bacteria that aids in that process but we're talking about a incredible amount of oil. A lot of people are concerned about the Oil getting into the Gulf Stream and traveling up the East Coast but that would at least disperse the Oil so the breakdown could take place some what more quickly. But, and it's a big BUT this only happens if the leak is plugged. Meanwhile I'm still wondering what a Cat 4 Hurricane would do with all that Oil. I'm reminded that God is in Control but I'm of the opinion God is upset with what we've done to this really nice planet he gave us to live on.

Sunny and warm for your Saturday start so hit the Lawn or Hit the Pool early. Some Clouds and the never ending Showers and T Storms are possible this afternoon. Temps will run 85 to 90 and even warmer late next week. We are in a mid Summer weather pattern that began late last Month and I don't see a end to it yet. We're for the most part getting lots of Rain but fortunately it's being spread around a good bit and no one is getting heavy continuing Rain. We are however getting at least a Trace almost everyday and occasionally a half inch down pour. Sometimes when the storms are collapsing we get some strong gusty winds as well but fortunately no wide spread severe outbreaks. The week ahead will be more of the same but Monday is supposedly going to be a little drier. Don't bet on that however. Outdoors here this past week we've hit the trail early but faithfully. Warm mornings have been the rule this week and that's unusual for this time of year. Seeing lots of Bunnies now and fighting the Bugs. Our extreme Winter has led to a extreme Summer and we are still over two weeks away from the Summer Solstice. We may seriously have to put off Monday morning trek since I think I'm leaving here about 3:30 in the Morning. Poor little Sophie just doesn't know when we are getting up here lately but she was waking me up and now I usually wake her up.

We have reported over 1 and a quarter inches of Rain this week but it's been spread out over several days. Highs have been in the 80's and 90's and the Barometer has hovered at 30.00" or less most days with High Humidity everyday.

Holiday Monday with Low Clouds but some Sun later in the morning. Scattered Showers again today will limit the outdoors stuff but it'll be hard keeping the kids out of the pool. High about 84 degrees. More of same Tuesday. We'll maybe get a frontal passage near the end of the work week that will push out some of this moist air and let us have a drier weekend. Outdoors this morning we all hit the Puppydog Trail and while it was damp in spots and the far end needs some mowing we had a good trek. Benji stopped about halfway to stand guard until our return leg and Sophie gave Missy a good spell of exercise. Sophie is at the stage now where she's all legs but she'll grow into those legs eventually. She's got some Jack Russell in her too and she has started the jumping thing as well. Today wraps up the month of May and it's been a wet one. Records in some places that won't be broken again hopefully in a long time. June is a transition month here as we move toward Summer. It's felt like Summer for a couple of weeks. With Hurricane Season starting Tuesday I am wondering what the Gulf Oil Spill mess will be like if we get a Hurricane. I'm betting it won't be good. Still no oil on the beach at Fort Walton but I'm afraid that won't last long. "For The Record, I don't do any business with BP anymore." not even a candy bar. We had some sharp Cloud to Ground Lightening yesterday afternoon so if your out side or in the pool listen for thunder and get inside. Now for the facts.

We reported .46" of Rain from a moderately heavy but brief storm Sunday afternoon.
Temperature at 7 AM was 70 degrees. Look for 84 or so today and Tuesday. Clouds should keep the heat down a bit.

Barometer is 30.06 and Steady now. The Low pressure we have been experiencing is moving slowly away but there is another one near enough to keep us humble.

Humidity is 90% and we will continue to be humid and muggy a couple more days at least.

We have a Partly Cloudy Sky to start our long weekend this morning. Those Shower chances will stalk us all through the Holiday but don't let them wreck your plans. Highs in the 80's and warm nights in the 60's. Outdoors this morning it's just me and Missy since Benji isn't up yet and Sophie is literally in the Dog House for being too aggressive. Missy is really needing some extra attention anyway. I've been gone most of the week and for a year we spent most all of our days together. We were early enough to catch a few Does and saw our little Red Fox who isn't that little anymore. The ground soaked up what little rain we got last night and Paula's flowers needed some rain so we're not in too much of a huff about catching a few showers.
After spending a couple of years in semi retirement mode and actually enjoying myself I have accepted employment that doesn't interfere with my Church work, my nights at home with the family, and isn't terribly physically demanding. A family style non hostile work environment is a plus as well. I am working for and with some really good people and my prayers about taking a new job have apparently been answered. The down side is I can't always post everyday like I was doing but be assured I'll always keep up with what's going on and when we have rough weather coming I'll be there. I may sometimes change my format a bit but we'll just see how it goes.

It's been another HOT day today and Wednesday looks for more of the same. Some of you encountered a brief Shower but not nearly enough Clouds to lower the high Temps. Wednesday looks like 89 degrees. And some shower chances. If the heat and sun hold up some of us will actually need a shower even with the heavy Rains of early May. June can sometimes be dry here and we're hoping to keep up our Hay production since the first cutting has been remarkable. Outdoors here this morning we found out rather quickly how our day was going to be when one of our resident Geese flew right over us and "Did what Birds DOO" right on top of us. Major Bummer. However the rest of the day was somewhat more enjoyable. Now the facts.

Sun's going down on a partly Cloudy sky after a hot 89 degree day today. Fair tonight and mid 60's for our Low. Some better Rain chances Tuesday but still a good deal of sun as well. High Tuesday about 85 degrees. The wind will be trending Southeasterly on Tuesday. The Isolated shower chances will persist through the week for most of us. Outdoors early this morning it was warm after a mild night. We caught a few Deer and a pair of Turkeys since we were out a good two hours earlier than usual. This evening all is peaceful except for my little Sophie wanting to chase Rabbits. She's been inside all day and has a lot of pent up puppy energy. Now for those facts.

We didn't have any Rain to report this morning and had a dry weekend as well.
Temperature currently 82 degrees at 7PM but as the Sun goes down we'll start cooling down soon. Look for 85 Tuesday with some more Clouds.

Mostly Sunny this weekend and Hot. Daytime Highs near 90 today and 90 Plus on Sunday. Nighttime Lows in the mid 60's with very little in the way of Rain chances. Shower chances pop up again Monday afternoon. A stable Barometer and building pressure for the weekend and then some afternoon pop up shower chances for the work week and the heat will continue. Outdoors this morning all is tranquil. We have discovered why a pair of our usually migrating Geese have decided to stay awhile. Six babies were observed today and they stopped traffic on our busy little road as they marched in order across the street. We need to mow today and even possibly for awhile Sunday afternoon. I've started working Monday thru Friday so my retirement is not quite so retiring once again. On the plus side my live in Doctor and Nurse says I need to get more exercise and maybe even make some bucks. The Great Recession is easing a bit here in Middle Tennessee after a couple of lean years. So most days we're gonna hit the old trail "early" and then post later but we're not going anywhere. Now for those pesky facts.

Not finding any Rain in the gauge today.

Sun and slightly cool after a chilly overnight and then Shower and Storm chances return this afternoon. Showers and Storms likely through Friday night but ending early Saturday. Highs about 80 degrees. Saturday and Sunday near 90 deg. The Clouds will be on the increase as the day wears on. the Showers over the next 2 days will be scattered but we all likely will get some rain. Outdoors it's cool for late May but not really uncomfortable and we all made the trek. No critters today but the Geese were honking nearby. We got to travel today so here's the facts.

Sun this morning and mostly Sunny today and warmer with mid 70's Highs. Partly Cloudy and cool mid 50's tonight as the North Winds trend Easterly and Shower chances begin returning on Thursday. Higher Barometric pressure will move Eastward across the State today and push out some of the Clouds and give us a sunny day. Shower chances will be fairly strong for Thursday evening and Friday and then decreased shower chances will persist through the weekend. But the bigger story is we will be heating up. The Pool is open here but needs work and then some hot days. Outdoors here today it's coming up Bunny Rabbits after a slow start. We managed to catch a couple of Does just heading back into cover and even though we're still behind on the mowing all is well in our little world. And now for those facts.

Thursday afternoon Showers returning. The weekend looks better today with sky clearing Saturday and Sunday may see temperatures close to 90 degrees. Next week looks to start off Hot and our next extreme weather may be Heat. Outdoors the Bunny Rabbit population is finally on the increase as we had several along the trail today. I must confess I accidentally killed a baby Rabbit with the Weed Eater over the weekend and felt so bad I told my wife I was not weed eating anymore. However....I'm being told to just be more careful. Now for the facts.

Sun and Showers this morning with warm and muggy conditions expected all day. High of about 78 degrees but some Sunnier spots may do a shade better. Mild and mid 50's with showers tonight but Sun for Tuesday. In fact we may have a couple of Fair days on Tuesday and Wednesday. Meanwhile some of the Showers today may be stronger this afternoon and we're in the Red Zone for Strong Storms today. Outdoors it's damp but not really very muddy. The songbirds are singing like they are in a concert. We didn't encounter any critters but the Pollen is kicking up again. It's looking like our Spring season will go down in the books as a wet one. After a Cold Winter with a lot of extreme weather the trend is continuing. Summer is about a month away and I'm thinking if the extreme trend continues we may be in for a Hot one. Now for the facts.

We were on the dry side of the 50% yesterday but today the odds go up dramatically. Showers and Storms with possible heavy Rain are likely as a Warm Fronts moves North across Tennessee. Similar to 2 weeks ago and folks in Nashville and many of our Western Counties are nervous today. And some of those Counties that experienced the heavy rains of 2 weeks ago had Record Hail yesterday. Those Storms may well fire up further East and South today so stay aware of whats going on. Just in the past hour a fairly prolific little Thunder Storm popped up out of no where and drifted Northeast across Murfreesboro with heavy rain, lightening and a few gusty winds. That at 6:30 in the morning! Wait for some mid day heating and we have a recipe for some extreme weather events. Outdoors we were out early this morning and could see the Southern edge of the Storm in Murfreesboro. We have a good deal of Humidity but not a lot of dew because the wind is while only 1 or 2 mph just enough to dry the dew off the grass. We are behind the curve on the grass again since we worked else where a lot last week but still not as bad as it has been and we will have to adjust our expectations until the current weather pattern changes some and our schedule stabilizes a bit. We may be logging a lot of seat time and miles in the near future. Now for those facts.

Sun and Clouds early today but scattered Showers and a few Storms becoming more numerous by mid day. Warm today with about 85 degrees. Rain chances remain through the weekend at about 50%. We look to have Shower chances everyday until at least next Tuesday. And....as we get closer to June and Summertime it will not be long before we have that 20% chance of afternoon showers almost everyday. Outdoors today we had our own Herbie sighting. Herbie the enormous Turtle was on the move this morning. The Geese were strolling around the North Lawn as well but we've mostly gotten to the point that the puppies don't pay them too much mind. Sunny and Warm today with a High of about 87 degrees. A few Clouds but only a small shower chance today. Warm tonight with more Clouds likely and then Friday we have a good chance for Showers and Storms. The majority of the Severe Weather will remain up North for the most part. We have some Summertime style Humidity today however and a pop up shower could get a little loud if it comes your way. Out doors just a bit of Dew with the light wind from the South this morning. We don't have a lot of critters on the trail and since the Sun comes up so early this time of year we miss our Deer herd most of the time but we do see them in the evening sometimes. Warmer Today but still a good deal of Cloudiness and a 20% Shower Chance especially in the afternoon. Southerly Winds will be breezy today and the Thunderstorm Chance tonight continues to be Low at about 20%. Not really looking for any severe type conditions but you might keep a eye out for some possible Lightening danger with any Thunderstorm. We're looking for on and off shower and Thundershower chances throughout the week. Outdoors today we had a cool night but it's definitely warming up and we have had a Southerly Wind Shift. Clouds on the increase this morning and shower chances on the increase by afternoon. High only about 65 degrees today and more shower chances tonight with a Thundershower chance later and a warm up for Tuesday. Those shower chances hang in just about all week with temps in the 80's daytime and after tonight in the 60's rest of the work week. We're going to be in a Summer type pattern this week after a chilly Monday. Outdoors it's cool but not a lot of dew this morning. There is a pretty strong storm chance 500 or so miles West of us but we don't anticipate a severe outbreak here with our current jet stream situation. The Clouds are rolling in however and not a lot of Sun today. Our little dog "Missy" is over her tummy ache and every thing is back to normal. Sunny and Dry here this morning since we apparently didn't get any Rain. Temperature may hit 70 today. Cool and a chilly 44 degrees tonight and then mostly Sunny for Sunday but only 68 deg. with Northwest Wind. Some areas did get a shower last night and those folks are 3 or 4 degrees cooler this morning. Nobody got much and for now we don't need any. We have some Rain chances Monday and maybe a better chance Wednesday but for now the weekend is going to be dry behind this fairly strong Front that came through this morning. The Barometer quickly jumped up behind the Front and we had a Northwest Wind Shift. Outdoors this morning it's still breezy and not that cool here but we won't warm up much, maybe 8 or 10 degrees before a Cool evening. We had some folks up the road that were in their Pool Thursday but I'm betting they aren't today. We got some stuff to do but we had a busy week ourselves so were not running to hard or fast. My little Missy ate something that upset her tummy so she's puny today but maybe she needs a little Daddy time since Sophie has been getting a little extra attention. A Hot and Breezy Day for our Friday and a chance of Showers and maybe a Storm here and there for the overnight. High Today 88 degrees. Saturday returns Partly Sunny and a tad Cool but still we may hit 70 Saturday. The moderate High we experienced the last few days is moving East and a Low to our North and a associated Front will influence our weather tonight and give us a wind shift and a cool weekend. Outdoors this morning warm for a early May morning and we couldn't linger long but our little world has pretty much recovered from the Heavy Rains of the last couple of weekends.

Off and running on another Sunny and Warm Day. High mid 80's with a few Clouds. Sunny and Hot Friday as we maybe hit 90 degrees. Showers Friday night but still looks dry but seasonally cooler for the weekend. There is a end in sight for the over grown grass situation here but we cut it on the high side and we'll have the whole job to do over next week. The trail was still noticeably quite as we didn't have any visitors but the birds singing and a fly over from the Ducks next door. I hear some lawn mowing going on from my neighbor down the road, they must be getting a early start. The weather is crazy everywhere, I talked to a guy on the Radio last night in Wyoming who says they are expecting Snow today. We'll stick with Tennessee I think. Now for those facts.

No Rain to report for the previous 24 hours. Technically we don't need any more this month but that might not be good either.
Temperature at 7AM is a warm 64 degrees. The next 2 days are going to be on the Hot side. sort of a Summer tease.

Barometer is 30.00" and Steady for the moment . Have a Front Friday evening but hopefully not as strong as the last 2 weekends.

Humidity is 95% and Falling. Surface moisture is finally drying out some and we have good dry conditions today and most of Friday.

Wind is of course calm this morning but trending kinda Northwest today behind a dry front that passed through yesterday. Southerly Shift for Friday. Maybe a bit more breezy on Friday.

Sky is Clear and will be mostly Sunny today.

Another Sunny Day and Warm 86 degrees this afternoon. A few clouds but mostly sunny today and Thursday before some Rain chances on Friday night. There is a chance they clear out and mostly dry for the weekend. We resume 20% Shower chances first of the week. A bit cooler behind the front for the weekend but warming back up Monday. Outdoors today was much drier and since we're making some progress with the grass things are looking up. We had a visit just before dark last night as a few deer came out to stroll on the freshly cut South Lawn but nobody is around this morning. Now for the facts.

Back to Sunshine and Springtime this morning. Look for a Sunny 84 degree afternoon. Clear again over night and a mid 50's Low. Good drying conditions today and Wednesday and by Thursday it's going to be Hot. Rain chances for the weekend. The Front this weekend is not looking to be nearly as stout as the previous two weekends. We got to stop this weekend Rain cycle. The Puppy Dog Trail is a little more passable today as we did brave the wet grass and mowed a bit, more will get done this afternoon. We didn't encounter any critters and it's obvious we don't have as many Rabbits this year, at least so far. We're hoping to get our Tomato's out this week and maybe get back to normal here although less than 50 miles away Nashville is a disaster area. Now for the facts.

We have had a unprecedented amount of Rain over the weekend. The two day total is 6.94 inches here. The last remnants of the Rain are leaving the area and we are soggy but by Tuesday we start drying out. High today 82 degrees. Some folks West of here had over 13 inches this weekend. Outdoors this morning the trail is impassible even though we don't have a lot of standing water. The doggies were in Puppy Pad mode yesterday. As best I can determine never in the history of Weather Records and observations have we had this much Rain in a 48 hour period. Needless to say we no longer have a deficit for the year. Now for the facts.

The Month of May dawns Cloudy and with Tornado Watches out so here we go again. High near 80 and Rain and Thunderstorms to our West. Likelihood of Storms and Heavy Rain throughout the Weekend. Rain chance lowers on Monday and Tuesday looks Sunny. The Temperature and Dew Point are well into the range for Thunder Storm developement and we have enough Jet stream action for possible Tornados so I'm not going to be surprised if the current Watch that ends at 11:00 AM is not the only one we get today. Outdoors this morning the Rain hasn't extended this far yet and the wind forbade any dew so it's really warm and dry and it would be wonderful if all that grass had gotten mowed but I can't be two places at once. The ducks from next door are still spending a lot of their mornings on the North Lawn and I'm hoping there aren't any eggs in my over grown grass land. Missy and Sophie seem to have adjusted to their presence and Benji doesn't see well enough to care. We did slug our way to the barn and in anticipation of heavy rain this weekend we put the Bike away and we'll put a few miles on Old Blue this weekend. Now for some facts.

All signs point to a Sunny and very Warm Spring Friday for the last day of April. High over 80 degrees. Clouds on the increase this afternoon and the weekend looks wet and stormy. Likely heavy Rain Saturday and Sunday. The dry weather is ending. Look for a breezy day today and outdoors we don't have any dew today thanks to a Southerly wind that blew all night. Sun and A Quick Warm Up this morning as a Southerly Wind Flow streams into Middle Tennessee. High today near 80 degrees. That South wind builds moisture and by Friday afternoon Rain Chances. Heavy Rain on Saturday. Those Rain chances will combine Saturday with a destabilizing Jet Stream and give us some possible Strong Storms but still Modeling Programs at the NWS are not in complete agreement. This time of year the best thing to do is have that NOAA Weather Radio turned on and listen for Alerts for your area. Out doors here today it is warming up fast and we got a lot on our plate but likely not going to get it all done today. Stressing doesn't help so we'll just tackle one thing at a time. Sunshine and Mild Temperatures today and tomorrow with Highs near 70 today and near 80 on Thursday. Night time temps. mid 40's tonight and likely in the 50's Thursday night. More weekend Rain, perhaps a lot of Rain. So far there is no definitive Forecast regarding Severe Weather this weekend but that should start to shape up tomorrow. Outdoors here it's wet. Clouds and Scattered Light Showers today as we can't seem to shake the wrap-around from the Low that brought us Storms on Saturday. High about 64 today, Clouds on Tuesday likely but Clearing for Wed. and Thurs. We escaped the seriously severe weather Saturday but a lot of folks are suffering this morning, we need to be thank full for our deliverance and reaching out to people who need help. We did get a total of 1.17" of Rain over the weekend, most of that Saturday. The Grass has quickly responded and the cracks in the ground are closing up. Outdoors we went trekking this morning looking for our lost Motorcycle Dust Cover I carelessly left in the back of Old Blue the pickup truck. I'm afraid it has left the County. We have to work this morning so here are the facts.

We Reported .94" of Rain yesterday morning and another .01 today.
Temperature at 7AM is 55 degrees. Slowly rising to mid 60's today.

Barometer is 29.55". That's still really Low. We were down to 29.50" Saturday as the strongest of our Storms passed through. That's Low enough that just about anything can happen. Look for a slow Rise later tonight and into Tuesday. But we got some more possible influence to our West that will hinder a strong stabilizing development.

Humidity is 95% this morning and will fall off a bit but still we are not looking at serious drying conditions today and without a lot of Sun the Rain we did get can be absorbed into vegetation before it evaporates.

We're in the Clear this morning after some Rain and Thunder late last evening. Today by the Noon hour we will see rapidly developing Thunder Storms and Super Cell Development so don't become complacent. Storms possible this evening and until late tonight. We did manage to squeeze out .24 inches of Rain last night but the dry soil soaked that up and you can barely see any signs of it. Outdoors this morning the temperature is warm and in the 60's with a good deal of Humidity in place. We made our rounds but we didn't hang out long. Clouds today and maybe a spot or two of Rain but I don't think the heavy stuff will be coming for quite awhile. Storms likely on Saturday. Today a 20% chance of Showers and a High of 75 degrees. Friday those Shower chances go to 30% Friday night and Saturday a "Significant Threat for Severe Weather" per the Weather Service Office in Nashville. Today a Warm Front overspreads the mid state moving from South to North, and this gets us a wind shift, a inflow of Moisture, and generally creates a unstable atmosphere that will be in place as a strong Cold Front comes in from the West on Saturday. This "Set Up" as i like to call it is the first real Storm Threat of this still young Spring Season. We 'll get some better information today and Friday concerning timing and etc. Meanwhile on the Outdoor Scene we all 3 hit the trail this morning as even the baby refused to be left behind. Tiny little Sophie saw her first White Tail Deer and she decided I could carry her after that. Also saw Turkey and Wabbits this morning. A few Fair Weather Clouds today and Temperatures are heading to the mid 70's this afternoon and down to the mid 40's tonight. Thursday and Friday begins a period of unsettled weather and then Storms on Saturday. I don't think we will have a lot of Rain Thursday or Friday as a Warm Front passes over but maybe we can at least start to build up some moisture in advance of a Cold Front due in here Saturday. The Storm Prediction Center is leaning toward some possible severe weather this weekend but we need Rain never the less. The weekend will be totally impacted by unsettled weather but most folks around here are willing to make the sacrifice. Outdoors here today we have a good amount of Dew and some counties are having Fog problems and our morning Humidity reading is up so we are already beginning to build up some lower level moisture. The ground here has cracks in some places over a inch and a half wide and the stepping stones leading from the deck are loose from where the earth has contracted. This kind of dryness is unusual for April. This time last year it was so wet we were having Slime Mold problems on the Front Lawn. We didn't see any critters today but the Birds are merrily singing away in the morning Sun as we head back towards home. Now the facts.

We did not report any Rain today. That's 12 zero days in a row and the last "Significant" Rain was March 28. So much for April showers. We have a chance to make all that up this weekend.

Clouds and Mild this morning but while you can see and smell the Rain it's not making it to the ground in our dry surface level air. Those "Chances" end later today and then mild tonight and Partly Sunny on Wednesday. The High on Wednesday should be in the low 70's. A more significant chance of Rain begins Friday evening and into Saturday and some possible Thunderstorms as well. Right now most folks will take Rain just about anyway we can get it. Outdoors today we encountered Bunny Rabbits, not nearly as many as we were having this time last year but we had enough to keep Missy hopping chasing after them. We could smell the Rain and even see some curtains of Rain cascading towards the ground but they fade away well before they get here. They call that phenomena Virga and it can drive Farmers crazy. Maybe we can catch some Drops today but it's looking like our next best chance is this weekend. Now for the facts.

Sun and Clouds today with a light Northeast wind will make our 68 degree High this afternoon feel a tad on the cool side after all the Hot Weather here lately. With some very slight Shower chances more of the same Tuesday. Wednesday and Thursday we climb back into the 70's. Some spots are still flirting with patchy Frost at night but thanks to a few Clouds here last night we didn't drop below 40 degrees. Outdoors here we are still growing a fair stand of grass in spite of not much Rain here lately. You can get away with a dry spell this time of year because the ground was mostly saturated from the wet Winter but if this trend persists it will be a problem eventually. But one really heavy Thunderstorm could catch us up so maybe that's what it will take. We had some kind of late night visitor because Missy was running around like crazy chasing scents and following trails but we didn't see so much as a bunny rabbit today. On the home front Missy is interacting more with our now 7 week old Sophie and Missy is well on the way to teaching Sophie how to be a dog and more importantly Missy is sharing "most" of her toys. She still has a few she hides in her Kennel but Sophie sneaks in there sometimes as well. Now for the facts.

What a difference a day makes. Cool and Clouds but dry so far. Still hoping for a Shower but our Dry Air is making it difficult. Shower chances end this afternoon High in Low 70's or upper 60's. Sun and Cool on Sunday. Cool on Monday also with upper 60's and Lower 40's spread. Some folks may worry about a Frost chance at night but I don't think it'll be that cool. Outdoors this morning it's not uncomfortably cool but not what we got used too. It's just me and Missy today Benji stayed home and little Sophie is playing with her toys. We ran off a Possum and scared some Rabbits and generally renewed our claim to the property. We missed one day and the critters are taking over. No dew thanks to a low Humidity and the wind. We are off to yet another Sunny Day with light Southwest Winds and a High this afternoon about 85 degrees. Fair tonight with a Low near 52 degrees. Friday mostly Sunny but Clouds on the increase and Shower chances Friday night. Those Shower chances extend into Saturday but our atmosphere here is very dry so we'll wait and see how much we actually can get. Outdoors we were up early today, new puppy early if you know what I mean. The temperature remained warm over night and some what less dew than the last couple of days, due mostly from our low Humidity. The rest of the gang finally rolled out about 6 AM and we made our rounds. Not many critters around this morning except our Hoot Owl was calling out from back in the woods. The Grass has slowed up some with this dry weather and I have a feeling my neighbor needs some Rain on his Wheat crop so we're actually hoping for some Rain and more Seasonal temperatures. More Sun today and not a lot of Wind as we head up to 85 degrees today. Tonight looks to stay well into the 50's and then more of the same on Thursday. Friday as we look to the weekend is a transition day into shower chances late. Saturday we have some fairly good chances for Rain but not looking to be severe and then for like the third week in a row generally Sunny on Sunday. Outdoors here this morning we took our morning trek on dew covered freshly mowed grass. Lot's of activity in Bird land as we apparently have a goodly number of babies and mommas working hard to keep them fed. I'm regularly stocking the feeder to keep momma fed as well. Our baby dog Sophie isn't hardly tall enough yet to make much headway in the grass and she likely will be too small to be a trekker but she is just 6 weeks and 2 days old so who knows. Old Benji seems to be her best buddy but Missy is making a attempt to play with her and still maintain her position as the Alpha dog. Now for the facts.

Lot of Sun today and warm this afternoon with a High of 82 degrees. Tonight Clear and about 50 degrees. Wednesday looks to be about the same. We are looking to be Fair and Dry until Friday night when the Shower chances return. Dry is the word because even though the Humidity is High in the cool early morning it drops to about 20% in the Hot afternoon. We likely will need a shot of Rain in a few days especially here where we didn't get much out of the last round of showers. Outside today is excellent and judging from the Farm Traffic on the road a lot of work is going on now. Missy was all about trying to chase a Goose of the North Lawn but the big fellow just walked away and Missy saw how big he was as she got closer and decided not to press the matter. Everyday is a adventure around here. We also now have a 6 week old puppy that we're adopting. She is really small and cries a lot but she needs a home and Missy needs a younger companion. Sun and Clear Sky this morning and after a cool 42 degree start we warm to at or near 80 degrees this afternoon. A light 5 mph East Wind today will trend Southerly Tuesday and then yet another fine warm Spring day. About 48 deg. overnight. The remainder of the work week looks Sunny and Warm but some Shower chances creep in by the week end. For the moment those Shower chances don't appear to be very significant. The National Weather Service is of the opinion that we'll not have any more Frost this Season and I guess a lot of folks will be planting this week. I'm not sure it's safe to put out your Tomato's yet but looking forward I don't see any Cold air coming this way and the month of April is slipping away. Outdoors here this morning the doggies and I made our way with thick grass and heavy dew this morning. We have a lot of mowing to do this week. From the sound of things the Chickens got up late today, I guess they had a hard week end. The Pollen seems to have let up a bit but I'm not sure that battle is over. Now lets look at the facts.

Sunny but Chilly this morning but we hit mid 60's this afternoon. Cold and 30's tonight and some low lying areas that are prone to Frost will get some. Sunny Saturday and 72 degrees however as Red bud Winter soon passes. We always have these cool spells and at the rate we are going I think the next one will be Dogwood Winter. Pollen is still flying that's for sure. Outdoors today we had a nice trek and plenty of Sun to offset the cool temperature. The quarter inch of Rain has mostly dried up and the birds are singing away today. The Trees are well along on leafing out now and the Grass is thick. What a difference a month makes. Soon the tractors will be in the fields if we can continue to have these stretches of dry weather with only brief but sufficient rains. April can be a rainy month but at least the 1st half of it has been cooperative. Now for the facts.

We reported .02" of Rain from the last effects of yesterdays rain event. No more expected for about a week.

Clouds and a few Rain Drops hanging on this morning but Rain ending as the morning progresses. Temperature not moving up much above 60 deg. today. Tonight Cool with Low's in the upper 30's. Sunny Friday and 66 degrees. The line of Storms that marched across the State last night were weakened by the drier air over the mid state and lost all of their Severe characteristics by the time they got here. We only had .23" of Rain and just a rumble or two of Thunder. Some CoCoRaHs Stations here in Bedford County reported .25 to .46 so the Showers were more or less depending on where you were. Stations in Western parts of the State had a inch or more. Maybe the Rain will wash out the Pollen for a day or so but the Allergy Season has a ways to go and it's been rough this year since so many varieties of Plants have bloomed at the same time. Outdoors here this morning we all made the trek and it's wet but not really too bad. This time of year a few hours of Sun can make a big difference. All is peaceful so far as the wildlife is likely still huddled up and keeping dry. Clouds are Lowering and Gusty Winds with our continued Warm Temperatures today. Look for about 78 degrees this afternoon. Tonight after mid night a round of Strong Storms and much Cooler Thursday and Friday. Saturday we warm back into the low 70's. After tonight and early Thursday we should be dry again for 4 or 5 days with warm temperatures returning on Saturday through Tuesday. However maybe not in the 80's like this week. Tonight the most severe threat is for West Tennessee where their is likely a bit more instability but as always that could shift Eastward. Still the is a strong possibility of straight line winds and lightening with heavy rain showers in some of the stronger cells. The dynamics of this may change during the day so check the weather tonight and have your NOAA Weather Alert Radio set to go. Outdoors here this morning after a warm night spent well in the 60's we have yet again no dew but fast moving Clouds are thickening up. The Pollen is thick and a light coating of yellow dust is on most exposed surfaces. I'm hoping we can wash some of that out of the air tonight. Now for the facts.

Temperature at 7AM is 63 degrees. I believe that was the Low over night as well. Yesterday for the 2nd day in a row we tied the record High of 87 degrees. Today with Clouds and all this Wind look for 78 to 80. Warm again tonight but after the Rain clears out Thursday look for mid to low 60's on Thursday and after Clearing out completely Friday a Frost chance Friday night and Saturday morning.

Warm and Sunny today with a strong breeze. Look for 85 degrees with very Low Humidity which will generate a Fire Danger this afternoon. Tonight will be mild and then Wednesday Clouds increase but a dry day before night time storms. We hit 87 yesterday tying the 1967 Record. The record today is also 87 degrees from the year 1967 as well. The Humidity is expected to fall into the 20% range this afternoon. That's very dry and a fire could easily start in grass or brush with that low a humidity level. There will be a Fire Watch issued today at Noon but don't be surprised if that gets updated to a Warning with all the strong wind I expect this afternoon. Wednesday night late we could see a squall line come through here but for the time being Storms are not expected to be at Severe Limits. Given our dry air scenario a lack of humidity will hinder storm development. But that could change during the day tomorrow so that Dew Point Temp. will be something to watch in addition to the Barometer. Outdoors this morning it's so dry we didn't have any dew. The Owl out back was Hooting away and Missy couldn't quite know what to make of him. That's the loudest I think he's ever been. We Mowed about 25% of the property yesterday and allergies or not we have to hit it some more today. Our temperatures will fall back to more seasonal normals after a cooler Thursday and Friday but looking out towards next week I think we have some more warm weather in store. Now for those facts.

Some Clouds and Sun this morning and Sunny this afternoon with a 82 degree High. Mild tonight with a 58 degree Low. Sunny Tuesday with a mid 80's High. This spell of well above normal temps. culminates in Storms Wednesday night. Thursday looks to be unsettled and wet with Thundershower chances but Sun returns for Friday and the weekend with mild temperatures. Outdoors this morning was the warmest morning this year so far. The air felt slightly damp but the Rain was well off to the North and we expect to stay dry for a few more days. The grass is growing at a steady pace thanks to the Quarter Inch of Rain on Saturday morning. We have our work before us today and likely for the next few days before the next Rain event. It's Tornado Week on the Weather Channel and this coming Friday last year we experienced Tornado's in the County here and Murfreesboro had their Big Tornado from which they are still recovering. The round of weather Wednesday and Thursday will have every one's attention. Now for the facts.

Sunny Day and Warm Temperature bordering on Hot, at least for this time of year. We hit 84 yesterday and anticipate slightly less than that today. Lots of Sun maybe a few Clouds this afternoon. Rain Saturday and Sun for Easter. That Rain event Saturday will be a fast mover and by Sunday and Easter Sun and upper 70's for the High. The above average temperatures hang on until Thursday when we return to more seasonal temperatures. "Normal" for this week in April is 67 degrees for the High and 43 degrees for the Low. We're getting to the point where even normal isn't to bad. Outdoors we have the fullness of Springtime. Freshly mowed grass, all the Birds singing, Bunny Rabbits scampering around and the Trees are leafing out nicely now. I hope the tree pollen lets up soon however. The trek to the barn is just a brief stroll now but we remember all those Dark Winter mornings when it was barely passable. Our big Red Lawn Tractor fired up without a problem after 3 months of downtime and it was good to be cutting some grass again but it sure was a Hot start to the season. Usually the first couple of times you have to wear a jacket. I'm betting we still have some cool spells but no danger of Snow or Ice for awhile. And if you thought all that Cold Weather would help kill off some of the Bugs, I got Ticks off me last night and we already had our annual Ant breakout in the kitchen window. A cool but Sunny start for a very Sunny Day with a quick warm up look for 78 degrees today and mid 40's tonight. Thursday more Sun and 80 degrees is a very real possibility. Fair weather continues until Saturday afternoon. Our warm spell will likely culminate in a round of Strong Storms Saturday night but that Front looks to be a fast mover and Sunday may be at least partly Sunny and 70 plus degrees. Next week looks to start off on a Fair weather track as well but all that is a bit far off at this point. Outdoors this morning we have dry firm ground and growing grass. I was out late last night and came home in time to catch a few Rabbits scurrying around the front yard. This morning my little dog "Missy" was all over those Bunny trails and wanting to chase Rabbits. I don't know what she would do with one if she caught it. The Trees continue to make up time from their late start and there is no shortage of Pollen in the air. There is also a Warning from the Forestry folks this morning and it seems our lowering Humidity and Wind has more than done it's job and there is a elevated threat for Fire Danger. A good deal of Middle Tennessee is under a Red Flag Warning so be careful with outdoor burning. Now for those facts.

Sunny and Mild with a 68 degree anticipated High this afternoon. Barometer is Rising and Humidity is Falling. We still look Sunny for the next 4 or 5 days and even the "Professionals" agree we hit 80+ degrees on Friday. I have a friend who has struggled with weather related health issues this past Winter who hopefully will benefit from a Sunny warm spell. And from what I saw in the mirror this morning some Sun might do me some good as well. Outdoors this morning everything is coming alive. Even old Benji had some "Spring" in his step this morning. Missy was hot on the trail of some Paw prints that don't belong to any of us and she wasn't satisfied until that trail crossed the fence line. We had a really large Dove perched on the power line when we got back, he must be comfortable with us, he never budged from his perch. That reminded me we need to stock the bird feeder again because we have mommas that have babies and everybody needs some extra nourishment for a few weeks. It's a Sunny Morning here and the Wind has let up as well. Some Clouds upstream may return but looking excellent for the moment. High today only about 58 deg. but Tuesday the serious warm up begins. The remainder of the work week and likely Saturday as well look to be Sunny and possibly by Friday we may seriously flirt with the 80 degree mark. Outdoors this morning we expected some Clouds but were surprised by a Cloudless brilliant Blue Sky. What Clouds we may see later will be moving out. The ground is soft but the mud is retreating and by Tomorrow a lot of gardeners will be planting the early season vegetables. Even my old dog Benji was feeling a bit more chipper this morning and finally the feeling that Spring is really here has begun to sink in. The Trees are stepping up production now and we may be running late but we are making up time now as the Old Time Train Engineers would say. Now for the facts.

Sunny but Cool this Saturday Morning. We anticipate a High near the 70 degree mark but windy conditions will likely make it feel cooler. Plenty of Sun today but Clouds later and Rain and maybe Stormy on Sunday. Next week once we get past Monday which will still have some clouds and showers remaining from our Sunday weather, the remainder of the work week at least looks to be Sunny and warmer. By about Thursday it's looking like upper 70's for the Highs. After Friday our atmosphere will be primed for some Springtime severe weather however so we'll be on the look out. But for now we have a pretty but breezy Saturday and on the trek this morning we checked out our Maple trees and it looks like they are running much later this year but there are buds starting to try at least too produce leaves. The grasses are growing in clumps but the clumps are getting closer and closer so while the mowing season is likely starting a couple of weeks later than usual it will not be long now. By about next Thursday I think a lot of folks will be starting the Mowers. Us included although we need to do a bit of Springtime Annual Maintenance first. Now for the facts.

Clouds this morning and Cold. The North wind will wake you up in a hurry. However Clouds will be breaking up this afternoon and the wind diminishes as Temperatures rise to the mid 50's at least. Saturday a wind shift and 70 degrees. That Southerly wind shift on Saturday will eventually lead to shower chances Saturday night late and Sunday looks wet and stormy. We have a history of Severe Weather on Palm Sunday so we'll be watching. Outdoors this morning the Cold Wind doesn't seem to be bothering the songbirds and they are singing away. The doggies made their rounds but we didn't linger much and hopefully we'll warm up by lunch time. Our half inch of rain left us muddy but the wind and the Sun this afternoon will help some and Saturday the Sun will just about be finished with the job when more rain returns. Last nights storms were mild and brief here but some folks had some wind and hail. After a 4 AM Thunderstorm and a heavy Rain shower hitting about 8:30 this morning we'll be Cloudy and breezy before another round of Thunderstorms later this afternoon. Temperatures should mid 60's today. After a rainy night, clearing on Friday but expect temperatures to be 10 or 15 degrees cooler. Warming up again on Saturday as we see yet another round of Showers and Thunderstorms Saturday night and Sunday. The Storm early this morning was not Severe but did have a good deal of Lightening here in Northwest Bedford County. Some folks in counties West of here had some small Hail but less than the required 1 inch to be classified as Severe. Not much wind in these early showers but that's expected to pickup as we see the pressure gradient tighten up today. Outdoors today looks socked in so we didn't make our trek. Missy wasn't too sure she even wanted to step outside after the Thunder this morning but she ventured out just long enough for the required activities. Benji followed her but he wasn't in much of a hurry either. Now for the facts.

We reported .27" of Rain which fell between 3:45 this morning and 7 AM. It was still raining at observation and a heavy rain shower is on the Radar moving our way.
Temperature at 7AM was 50 degrees in spite of the Rain. Our relatively warm night allowed our early Storms to develop and stay together.

Barometer is 29.90" and Falling. Look for a slow drop through the day as a Cold Front approaches. We get a bump up on Friday but then another system will approach.

No shortage of Sunshine today and we warm to 75 degrees this afternoon. Tonight with increasing Clouds the Low remains near 50 degrees and finally by mid day Thursday if not sooner Rain and Thunder returns. I guess for now we get our Sunny Days in small doses but that will end soon enough. We may squeeze in a Sunny Day on Saturday but shower chances will dampen Sunday. The positive side to all this is no really Cold temperatures in the near term. Outdoors here on the trail this morning we are drying out nicely and the grass will respond to this Sunny Day with some serious greening and growing in some of the more fertile spots. For some reason the grass along the "Trail" is growing the best. The local Bird population are busy with nest building. Now for the facts.

Clouds and Cool but certainly not Cold this morning. Those Clouds thin out today and we expect to see some Sun and a High of 65 degrees. Clear but Mild tonight with a Low in the 40 to 42 range. Sunny Wednesday and Rain Thursday. We're looking at a pattern of Rain every few days but that's Spring here in Middle Tennessee. Temperature Wise the days are going to be in the 60's and Nights running in the 40's for the remainder of the week. With a few Sunny days tossed in there and certainly enough Rain your Lawn should be recovering nicely from our tough Icy Winter just passed. Outdoors this morning it may not look very Springlike but the signs are there. The Songbirds are singing away for there mates. Love is in the air I think. The grass along the trail is growing rapidly now although there are numerous brown patches that we're waiting on to catch up. My little dog "Missy" has been with us one year today. We rescued her from the Dog Pound and we don't know her exact Birthday but March 23 is the day we got her and she's according to her Vet 2 years old now. Her longing to be outdoors is what actually started the daily trek that became The "Puppy Dog Trail." It's hard to believe she's been here a year and we have braved some weird weather this past year. Clouds and Cold with some occasional Snow Showers early but mostly drizzle now. Look for light rain some flurries and a High near 40 degrees this afternoon. Cool tonight but not Cold and improving on Tuesday. By Wednesday we may see 70 deg. The air near the ground is not really very cold but the upper atmosphere temps. are cold enough to produce flurries and some of those manage to fall all the way to earth before melting. But, Spring has sprung and the cold snaps will become shorter and less frequent as we get on into April. Outdoors on the Puppydog Trail this morning old Benji decided to stay home but Missy and I dutifully trudged towards the Barn. With Snow falling and Rain mixed in as well it doesn't feel much like Spring and Lord knows we have made this trek in the Snow too many times this past Winter. We were running early enough to catch the local Deer Population in the meadow but they ignored us and Missy has accepted them as "belonging" here so everybody remained cordial. We had a flyover by our Pair of Geese that still have remained on the Pond next door. Several more came through over the weekend but those guys didn't stay long. The grass is greening up at a rapid pace now and unlike last year when we started mowing the last week of March I think we'll be getting the Mower ready for the 10th of April or there about. The Clear Sky and Light Frost is a significant change from the last week of Clouds and today we manage to approach 70 deg. for our High. More Southerly winds will give us a milder night and Warmer Saturday with late Rain chances. That late Saturday Rain chance will possibly be more like Sunday morning and some Thunder may be associated with that so be forewarned. Tomorrow is the first day of Spring and the Spring Storm Season. However this is the last day of Winter and we have for a couple of days at least a chance to do some Spring stuff. Monday may be on the cold side but from here on in usually the cold snaps are shorter and shorter. Outdoors this morning we had little puppy dog paw prints in the light layer of Frost but the Sun is rising on a mostly clear day. The cold night and evaporating frost will aid in the ongoing drying process and maybe folks can work the soil some today and Saturday. Missy jumped her self a Rabbit this morning and we managed to catch some of our herd of Deer grazing in the meadow close to the wood line. The time change hasn't filtered down to the Deer I guess. So...things are looking up weather wise. Now for the facts.

Temperature was a chilly 31 deg. at 7AM but after Sun Rise we'll be in the 60's by late morning and near if not at 70 by 3 PM. Some Clouds and Fog in mostly the Eastern regions this morning. Look for some Sunny breaks today and a temperature at or above 60 degrees. Clearing and certainly cooler tonight but Sun and upper 60's on Friday. With 2 more days of Winter remaining finally perhaps the Cold and Cloudy weather may be loosening it's grip. Just in time for Spring on Saturday we have some Showers and Thunder in the Forecast for Saturday afternoon and the overnight period ending on Sunday. We hit the trail outdoors early this morning but nary a critter in sight. We can however see some greening up a bit more each day and if we could add some Sun I think we'll start shaping up shortly. On the Ham Radio very and I do mean very early this morning stations were reporting 50's in South Alabama and my buddy in Central Florida had 62 degrees so there is warmer air out there and if the Jet Stream would wiggle around some we might start to see some of that here. Clouds and Cool temps. hanging in another day but change is on the way. Mid 50's today and Low 40's tonight. Wednesday a mix of Clouds maybe a Shower and then the mess moves out for Sun on Thursday. We need a break from the Clouds and Cool Damp weather because it's taking a toll on folks. I know several people who have or recently had pneumonia and I'm trying not to be one of them, My old dog Benji is having a hard time getting around and a lot of the aches and pains from a long cold Winter have had a cumulative effect on most of us. It's time for some warmer weather and signs of approaching Spring are there but everything is running later. The greening process on the lawn is ongoing and I'm seeing some growth in spots and not just the Onions. Our trail to the Barn which we have followed faithfully most of the Winter is well worn and I look forward to what the change of Seasons has to offer. The Stores are starting to display their Spring Lawn and Garden products but not in as much abundance as years past. I guess the Great Recession is mostly responsible for that. On a lighter note we recently were gifted with a good supply of Country Ham, and if it kills me I'll die happy. Now finally here are the facts.

Yes you should beware the Ides of March for tis Cloudy Cool and Damp yet another day. We may creep above 50 degrees but it'll feel cooler and damp. The Clouds will persist for a couple of more days at least but Spring is on the way. We have 5 more days until the Spring Equinox and we know that in the grand scheme of things that is still just a date on the Calender but I also know we all have hopes for a nice Spring Season. We were off line Saturday if you missed us, apparently some bad vibes on the DSL lines here in our neck of the woods. Our speeds still less than optimal but I'm betting the guru's are working on that today. I'm listening to my 62 year old Tube Radio that I restored last year and Tom T. Hall is singing on WSM. It's got nothing to do with Weather but Tom T. is one of the most famous guys I ever had a drink with and that was many moons ago but I still remember he was a pretty regular guy. Of course I don't do that sort of thing anymore. I guess we're tired of the Winter Weather and a little bored but that should soon be changing, we are slowly warming up and maybe the El Nino will lighten up soon and Spring will be Sprung. Thunder and Rain this morning, Started at 5:15. And after some Hail early, no Warnings presently. More Weather coming our way so keep a eye out. We will remain cool today in the mid 50's. We are shaping up to be cool and Showery this weekend but next week looks more Sunny. The Hail this morning was mostly in the Southern area's of Bedford County and from the spotter who called in on the Radio it was about three quarters of a inch in diameter and covering the ground. The new criteria from the National Weather Service has increased the size of Hail for reporting purposes up to 1 inch before it's considered to be "Severe", but listening to the guy it sounded pretty loud to me. We're entering the last week of Winter and this little stormy period is mostly on schedule I guess. Outdoors this morning it's Lightening and Thunder and pouring so we didn't make the trip. We likely have more Rain off and on today and the Center of Low pressure is over Bedford and Coffee Counties this morning and moving slowly North and East which will allow some "Wrap Around" weather to stream in over the next day or so. Our anticipated line of Storms came in mostly as Rain but after a break later this morning more Stormy chances later this evening. We remain warm and look for upper 60's today. Looks like a fair chance for Showers and Thunder Friday as the Front finally passes through and then Scattered Showers over the weekend as the wrap around from our Low Pressure area up North spins some occasional weather through here. Outdoors is a washout today as we received .44" of Rain in a short time this morning. South of here in Alabama was Stormy last night and we could faintly see Lightening on the Southern horizon. Arkansas was the hot spot yesterday however with Tornado's in several places. As we warm up today our unstable atmosphere and abundant moisture could fuel Storms so keep a watch out. Meanwhile it's Raining hard now and the Doggies had to be ordered to step outside and do their business. They complied, "Good Little Doggies." Now for the facts.

Clouds and mild temperatures this morning. We had a brief heavy shower last night but not looking for much Rain today. Overnight late and Thursday morning we're looking at a Frontal Passage and some Storms. Not much extremely severe weather but it's getting that time of year so have the NOAA Weather Radio on for sure. Out doors here is still not extremely muddy and maybe we can get a few chores done without getting muddy. The Water is out this morning and our neighbor bless his heart we rarely really see each other much was walking his line to the meter and my little dog was making off like she was a big dog. Fortunately since we both don't have any pressure it must not be our lines but the water companies problem. We did after several days accumulate another lone pair of Geese on the Pond this morning. i don't know if they are stragglers or scouts but they were flying around honking like mad early this morning. Sun and Clouds early this morning but Increasing Clouds from the West and Rain Showers approach before Lunchtime. The Temperature is mild after a mid 40's overnight Low. Clouds and Showers for the remainder of the work week. The wet weather is projected to come in several waves off and on over the next several days but for the most part not expected to be severe, although we may hear some Thunder. Wednesday night and Thursday do bear watching so we'll be on the lookout through that time period. The Humidity and the associated Dew Point is still low but the moisture will be lowering towards the ground over the next couple of hours. Outdoors here was warm and dry for one more day the dogs had lots of scents to trail and good dry ground under their feet. I can literally see a difference in the greening up of the lawn over the previous 24 hours and once the Sun stimulates that Chlorophyll the Rain will kick start the growing process. I guess we should be careful what we wish for because in 3 months we'll be wishing the grass would give us a break! If you like to put out Onion Sets this last few days was a good time to do that and I bet some folks are looking forward to putting out the garden although it's a way's to go before planting time. Our string of Sunny Mild Days continues for one more day so as we get near 70 degrees today enjoy because this is the most Sunny day this week in all likelihood. Weather is approaching from the Southwest. Tuesday should see a return of Clouds and Shower chances and by later day Wednesday perhaps some Thunder as well. The good news however is we don't see the Cold temperatures. As we get closer to the weekend Saturday looks to have some Clouds and Rain but maybe not a continuous soaking Rain and maybe we can salvage Sunday with some Sun and temps. in the 60's. But...that's all a ways off at this point. The Outdoors scene here was Sunny and Mild out on the trail today and we are running a shade late because we extended our morning stroll. The Wilder Wild Life was on the down low but we expect to see some serious greening up on the lawn and momma Bunny Rabbits will be delivering babies that will be hopping everywhere if this year is anything like the last few Spring times. Maybe my little Missy dog will cut them some slack this year although she just likes to chase them and wouldn't know what to do if she really caught one. We don't have any Geese now nor do our neighbors so maybe most of them have migrated on towards the North. All signs point toward Spring in 12 more days. Now for the facts.

Lot's of Sunshine this morning and after a chilly over night we head up to the upper 50's for our High today. Cold tonight but Sunday the Northwest wind trends Southwest and we top 60 for the High. Monday will be dramatically warmer and the remainder of the work week will have Shower and Thunder Storm chances on and off. I hope we don't get a lot of Rain but March can be wet at times. The Higher Sun Angle will counter some of the wet conditions if the Clouds will allow it. Out doors here was quickly warming and the ground is dry and firm and it will be the most Spring like weekend in a good while. Two weeks of Winter left and finally it looks like the transition is getting under way. I've got a Road Trip today so we must get to it. Here's the facts.

Sunshine and Warming Temperatures this morning as we plan to soar past the 50 degree mark this afternoon. Saturday looks to be near 60 and Sunday we will exceed the 60 mark. Shower chances return Monday evening. But the warm temps. will remain. I would expect some Thunder chances sometime next week as well but let's enjoy the next few days first. Outdoors on the trail today we had a hefty frost last night and the Possum population has been stirring around from the looks of the tracks. We saw one in the road last night and he wasn't "playing Possum" either. He was fully committed to being dead at the scene. We continue to be a primary feeding ground for Robins and the local Worm population is dwindling. Just about everybody else must have ventured out before we got there. It should not be too long before we start seeing some Bunny Rabbits, and we had a bunch last year. Now for the facts.

Sunny this morning and with a Cold start today we will finally feel some improvement. High in the 40's for sure. Tonight Cold and in the mid 20's for the Low. Warming more on Friday and the weekend still looks like Springtime. We may stay dry until Monday late but even then we don't look to be cold because of a long over due Southerly Wind. Today the outdoors is getting a good dose of needed sunshine. The wind has dried up most of the last Rain and Snow and we will continue to see drying conditions through the weekend. The Grass may even see some life returning over the next week or so if things hold up. On the home front after a long bitter Winter's battle the furnace is out this morning so we got to get someone in to look at that. Clouds and naturally a few Flurries early today but eventually we make it up to 43 degrees. Flurries ending but Cold tonight with Clouds departing. Thursday looking Sunny and near 50 degrees. Weekend still looks good. The North Wind managed to blow at least 1 mph or so most of the night, thus some drying of the ground. We here didn't have any accumulation of Snow from the flurries Tuesday but some of ya'll did. My friend in Manchester may have had a inch on the ground at least briefly according to some of the Ham Radio traffic I heard from Coffee County. The Clouds and the Cold air aloft are still managing to squeeze out a few small flakes this morning but If we are lucky this may have been the last of the Snow for this season. However, we haven't been very lucky here lately and the 3rd week of March has been "tricky" on more than one occasion. Outdoors here we hit the trail this morning, just my little Missy and me as Benji hung out close to home. We took a alternate route this morning and observed that our man made Salt Lick has all been licked up at last. We had to cross over a low spot along the road where there is a drain pipe Missy always has to investigate and I don't know what she saw but she was backing up and finally behind me. She doesn't back down much so whatever she saw we decided to leave it alone, we had other places we needed to be. All was quite other wise. Now for the facts.

Heavy Flurries this morning but at 34 degrees not really a problem. Some Flurries before about mid day and then Rain and Flurries. High today about 42 degrees. Cloudy and 29 tonight. Weekend still looks like Spring. Our Snowy Winter has still got a few tricks left up her sleeve but the Temperature fortunately is warm enough to avert any real travel problems. Outdoors on the Puppy Dog Trail doggies with Snow Flakes on their little backs were nose to the ground tracking what ever little dogs can track. It may have been their scent from yesterday for all I know but they do apply themselves. A couple of Deer were near the tree line ahead of us but they nonchalantly strolled into the woods before we got there. The grass is beginning to show some signs of life although we're running behind what we had the last several years. I'm thinking once the lawn wakes up if the Rains hold up it could be a good year for grass. We'll need it because a lot of Hay has been fed this past Winter. Now if we can get by without too much moisture hitting the ground today we have 5 dry and warmer days ahead of us. We might hit 60 by Sunday. Here are the facts.

Sunny and Cold early but milder this afternoon. Some areas will see upper 40's but most will peak in the mid 40's. Not as Cold tonight with some Clouds and upper 40's on Sunday. We should be dry until Monday night. February is winding up this weekend and it's been a Cold Snowy month over most of the entire Country. Spring is 21 days away and while that's technically just a date on the Calendar I think a lot of people are eager for planting time and grass mowing. The Spring Storm Season is the next hurdle in front of us and most groups involved with that sort of thing are active in their public information and education programs. Outdoors here this morning was Cold and barren. The bright Sunshine fully exposes how dead everything is and we don't have much activity on the trail here lately except at the Bird feeder. But I think soon we'll see it picking up. Now for those facts.

Fair Sky and Sunshine this morning but still Cold. Expect a High of 45 degrees today and a Low about 23 degrees tonight. More Sunshine on Saturday and maybe 46 to 48 degrees. We look to stay dry until late Monday, but still some Clouds from time to time may squeeze out a drop or a Flurry but that will be very local and not likely. Our next significant weather isn't due until Monday evening. This Winter has been one for the record books. Outdoors here this morning the ground is more dry than yesterday and some of our neighbors are running their equipment up and down the road trying to get into the field and do some work. The trek down the trail was filled with Robins grazing on the lawn. I counted 10 in one bunch. That's a sign of Spring. Now I got Lot's of stuff to do myself so here are the facts.

Temperature was 24 degrees at 7AM and heading to 45 this afternoon. Cold tonight.

Barometer 30.15" and Steady. Still not strong but apparently Stable for another 24 hours. There are still pockets of Weather which the guru's call troughs that are passing over or near from time to time.

Humidity is 85% and generally we are dry. A little more every day for a welcome break. The lower parts of the fields still have standing water but that's normal for late Winter.

Wind is Calm early but Northwest at 10 to 15 will be the order for the day.

Sky is Mostly Clear but some Clouds today and Saturday. But for the most part more Sun than Clouds. If it was 10 degrees warmer it would be lovely.

Sunny and Clear but Cold this morning as the Clouds moved on to the East along with the Flurries. Look for a Cold Breezy day and about 40 degrees this afternoon. Low tonight about 22 degrees and slightly warmer Friday. We now are 23 days until Spring but Winter is still holding onto us. The Flurries that plagued us yesterday have moved onto the Plateau and Crossville may actually have some on the ground this morning. There are still some cloudy pockets of weather in the West but we don't anticipate any precipitation before maybe late day on Monday. On the Puppy Dog Trail today the ground is Frozen but you can tell it is drier as well. We surprised some Deer today that wanted to stay out in the open and catch some Sun and I agree as does my little Missy that the Sun felt good on our back today. I'm still of the impression that our Winter Pattern is shifting towards Spring but we still have a ways to go. Now for the facts.

We reported a Trace of Precipitation from the Flurries on Wednesday but no accumulation and the gauge didn't actually have anything in it.
Temperature at 7AM is 19 degrees after about 18 for the Low last night. We didn't remain at 19 long and the Sun is quickly sending us into the 20's. We should top out at 40 degrees by 3 PM this afternoon. Cold again tonight and maybe mid 40's on Friday.

Barometer is 30.10" and Rising slowly. We don't have a strong High pressure but things are Stable for a few days.

Humidity is 80% and dropping in the Sunshine. We are trending more Dry for a few days.

Wind is mostly Calm but occasionally a bit Westerly at 1 or 2 mph. That will increase to 5 to 15 today. Actually more Northwesterly once the Sun gets up Higher.

We have Sun here this morning with some Clouds on the Southeast Horizon but that is heading away from us. Still a few scattered pockets of Clouds on the Satellite but we expect the Sun to push us to 40 degrees today. Tonight with a few Clouds but generally clearing we'll be Cold but Dry. The next several days should be dry and with a Northwest Wind I expect the dampness to give way and some over due outdoor chores will be on a lot of "to do" list. There are however a few pockets of Low Pressure drifting generally in our direction over the next day or so that could bring us some Clouds or a sprinkle or two but I'm just throwing that in there so you'll not be surprised. For the most part I think we have 4 or 5 dry days ahead. Outdoors this morning with firm ground and some frost the Sun came up "suddenly" and this little part of the world became alive. Geese have returned to the Pond next door and I noticed this morning that when the large Geese are flying around and honking loudly the smaller birds go to the ground and just stand around. I think some of the honking is to warn the smaller birds to get out of the way so there won't be any "mid-air" collisions. Maybe airliners need to blow there horns. That's just my observation. Clouds and a slowly ending misty drizzle this morning. Looking for mid 40's today and about 32 tonight with some minor Flurry Chances. Clouds and some Flurries on Wednesday but not anticipating any real accumulations. Thursday and Friday still on schedule to be Sunny and dry unless something changes. We have received .03" of Rain from the occasional misty rain during the previous 24 hours and while it has seemed to be constantly wet I guess the total hasn't added that much to the mud situation. We look to be dry for 4 or 5 days after this current weather moves on along. Outdoors here today is still Dark and Dreary as the Clouds are low and thick. My Posse and I didn't venture forth all the way down the trail but it doesn't look like a lot of action here today. It's 25 days until Spring and sometimes those last 3 or 4 weeks can be a mixture of depression and promise. We had the promise last weekend and we got the depression today as it's Cloudy and Cold and Damp. Now for the facts.

Clouds but Mild Temperatures after a half inch of over night Rainfall. Clouds will persist and after a 53 degree High today the rest of the week looks to be in the 40's daytime and 20's at night. We had a taste of Spring over the weekend but now Winter returns. We may even see a few Flurries late Tuesday but we're hoping for more dry days than wet this week and still I see indications that the Winter pattern is shifting towards Spring. Outdoors here this morning the mud has returned but not as soggy as it has been. We had no encounters with any wildlife and maybe they're resting because everybody who is anybody was out yesterday. I'm Dog sitting a Miniature Dachshund this week. She's a city dog and doesn't know what to make of the Puppy Dog trail but we drug her along. Her name is Jessy and she's a little bit spoiled and wants to boss Missy and Benji around but we'll straighten her out. We had her a week last Summer and Missy and her were best buddies by the time she left. Now for the facts.

We duly reported our .50 inches of Rain that all fell between 8 PM last night and 7 AM this morning.
Temperature at 7AM is a comfortable 47 degrees. We likely hit the mid 50's briefly today but then Colder air returns for the remainder of the week as reality returns. Our brief fling with Springtime was fun.

Barometer is 29.75" and is Rising from a low of 29.70" last night. We did hear a couple of rolls of Thunder but fortunately that was all. We may Rise some but not expecting any really Strong stable pressure before the end of the week.

Humidity is 98% and we have moisture at ground level and mid levels today. Still we do expect drying conditions later in the week. Some Counties in North Alabama had Red Flag Fire warnings over the weekend due to dry ground and Winds which promoted a danger of wild fire. It only takes a few days to dry up if conditions are right.

Wind is calm this morning. Our Southerly wind from yesterday will trend West and then Northwest as we start to feel the Colder air.

A Sunny Start to the Fairest Saturday Morning we've had in several weeks. We get close to 60 degrees today with a few Clouds this afternoon. Milder tonight but Shower chances return by Sunday afternoon. We may have some Thunder Showers Sunday night and into Monday but nothing so far that looks Severe. We are enjoying a warming trend and perhaps seeing a change in our Weather Pattern. Still...some Snow flurries possible late day Tuesday but that looks to be short lived. Outdoors today is alive with activity. We have the Bird population going crazy, everybody is screaming their head off this morning. Mostly the large population of Blackbirds across the street. I got Deer in the side yard and Turkey out back and Rabbits under the mower trailer. Things are picking up around here. Now for the facts.

Temperature at 7AM is 30 degrees. We dropped to 28 just before Sunrise. Look for 60 the next 2 days.

A mighty fine Sunny if Cool morning is preceding a 50 plus degree afternoon. Not as Cold tonight with Clouds but the Rain chances are decreasing and Saturday's High should be in the upper 50's. Showers will arrive for Sunday however. It's just possible that we are beginning to see a shift in our weather pattern but likely we still have some Winter left as we begin to turn the corner toward Spring. Outdoors this morning the Deer must be running late because we surprised a few and I got Turkey's across the road that don't seem to be minding us as we make our trek. The Turkeys are getting more comfortable with humans and while "Hunters" have to use "Calls" and struggle to find any I sometimes have to shoo them away just to get to the mailbox. Now since I have a lot to do today here are the facts.

Sunshine and Blue Sky this morning as we head to a High near 45 degrees. After another Cold Night we anticipate getting very close to 50 degrees on Friday. Rain chances slip back in Friday night and maybe some Flurries. The Weekend and thru Monday has Rain chances. There may be some slight Snow chances during those evening hours but we don't see any "Snow Storms" on the horizon for the moment. I choose to enjoy today and Friday for the moment and get a few late Winter chores done before the mud returns. My Brother In Law is going to be out of town for 10 days or so starting Saturday and I'll be feeding and looking after his Horses so it would be nice if we could have some mild dry weather but I'm not betting on it. Outdoors here this morning along the Puppy Dog Trail we discovered those Big Dog tracks again and my little Missy trailed them all the way to our Fence line. We have a visitor coming by apparently overnight before the mud freezes and from the depth of the paw print and the size of it he or she is a good size fellow. The Gold Finches have once again staked out the Bird Feeder but from time to time the Red Cardinals manage to get in for awhile. I tossed some seed out down the trail and the Blue Birds generally head for that. I don't know why they don't seem to be welcome at the feeder. I don't see or hear the Geese this morning and maybe that particular group has moved on North a few miles. I fully expect a new group in soon. Now for the facts.

Sunshine and mostly Clear Sky this morning and we hit the upper 30's. Some clouds will remain but the Flurries are ending. Thursday more Sun and we're generally looking at a warming trend but still Cold nights. After a couple of dry days the Rain chances return for the weekend along with Snow chances during the night time hours but not any major stuff on the horizon for the time being. Outdoors today the Snow is mostly gone but still a few lingering patches that will be departing today. We saw a couple of Squirrels running around this morning and I am wondering if they are looking for a meal or if they are taking advantage of what looks to be a nice day. The grass or what's left of it could use some Sun and we might even see some actual drying conditions for a change. The Sun is coming up earlier and it feels this morning like maybe we are emerging from our dark and snowy Winter. However March has her share of surprises. Now for the facts.

Cloudy with Flurries this morning, "They will end someday", High today 32 to maybe 34 degrees. Clouds with some possible Flurries and 24 or so tonight. Maybe a shade warmer on Wednesday but Thursday is our Sunny Day this week...maybe. This is by all accounts the roughest Winter here in Bedford County in some time. But, so far the Duck River hasn't frozen over so this year isn't without precedent. We had a lot of snow several years in a row back when I was young enough to enjoy it. We are continuing to get Flurries off the back side of that strong Low Pressure area that passed through here Sunday night and that can last through Wednesday. Some of the long range forecast models are indicating a strong system in here Sunday night but there is some conflict so I guess that's one more thing we can be keeping a eye on. Outdoors here this morning it's still looking like a Winter Wonderland and I'm wondering when it will all be over. The doggies and I made our rounds on firm footing with a half inch dusting of Snow. The Birds have cleaned out their feeder and apparently left to raid somebody else but we do have more Geese flying around the pond next door this morning. There were a lot of Deer tracks in the Snow near the tree line so while we're not seeing them they likely are watching us. Surely in a couple or three weeks we will be turning the corner towards Spring. Now for the facts.

Temperature at 7 AM is 21 degrees. The Clouds moved back in yesterday afternoon and gave us a lot of Snow Flurries but also helped to hold the temperature up some. We should get to or above Freezing today.

Barometer is 30.00" this morning and Rising slowly. We are looking at a slow Rise in pressure but not likely a big jump. More disturbances are lurking to our West that will give us some Rain or Snow chances by Friday.

Humidity is 77% this morning. The Snow we have and the Flurries are dry.

Wind is southwest at 3 mph and looking to be generally Westerly and maybe 10 or 15 mph at times.

Sun and a few Clouds this morning and we have just under a inch of Snow plus some under lying ice on the ground. Cold today and maybe a scattered Snow Shower but not a lot more expected. Clouds tonight and about 15 degrees. Tuesday we may see some Sun but still some pockets of Cloudy weather and maybe a Flurry from time to time. We may get above Freezing Tuesday and we warm up as the week progresses. Outdoors here this morning was not nearly as difficult as we expected. The Snow isn't very deep and the footing is firm from the frozen ground. Ice is slippery however and the Sun we're getting for the moment can enhance that slipperiness, so be careful. The trek to the Barn today was quite and uneventful but Missy was in a hurry because her little feet were getting Cold. Benji found a dry spot under my old truck and he just observed the world from there until we returned. The hard surfaces have about a inch of Snow but the ground has just under a inch. Fortunately the Rain falling at bedtime last night must have turned to Snow quickly and the wires and tree limbs don't appear to be under a strain. Now for the facts.

We are reporting .15 inches of precipitation melted from the gauge and .8" of Snow.
Temperature at 7 AM is 18 degrees here but rising some as the Sun is breaking through now. We should be in the upper 20's today and mid teens tonight.

Barometer is 29.80" and Rising this morning behind the Front that passed through over night. We have some occasional Clouds and maybe Flurries on the backside of this Front but generally improving conditions.

Humidity is 80% and dropping in the cold dry air but we have a lot of moisture on the ground.

Clouds and a bit of a Northwest Wind and we're seeking a High of 38 degrees by this afternoon. We likely see some Sun today then a Low of 28 over night with a Dusting of Snow. Rain Sunday turns to Snow by nightfall. The accumulation Sunday night into Monday could be a couple of inches but just how much you get could vary. For the time being this doesn't look like a major Snow maker and Lows from the Northwest usually aren't here in Tennessee. In these parts it's the Southern Lows that bring Deep Snows. We narrowly missed a big one yesterday. The Trail today was mostly quite but Missy was smelling a lot of activity that may have preceded us. The Wildlife is mostly out of sight this morning. The Cows across the road are ripping into a few round hay bales and making a bit of noise but nothing significant going on this morning. For the most part this will be a calm Winters Day and the approaching Weather will be less of a hazard than the Ice Event of a couple of weeks ago. Monday is a Holiday so even the Schools will maybe be spared a "Snow Day." Now for the facts.

We were grateful to not have any precipitation to report for the previous 24 hours.
Temp.26deg and we will be warmer today at 38 or so. Not as Cold tonight with a 28 degree Low. Sunday we get up to 39 and then the cool down turns our Rain into Snow by nightfall.

Hum.75% and the Air is slightly more Dry here but a more West to Southwest wind is expected later today that will supply the humidity for our Rain and Snow event.

We have Clouds and Cold Temperatures this morning but thankfully it looks like the Snow passing to our South is going to stay there today. We do have some Snow chances for Sunday and Sunday Night so stay aware of conditions. We'll continue to be Cold tonight and Saturday but maybe a more or less Sunny day on Saturday. Our High temperatures today and Saturday will likely remain in the 30's and it will not take a lot to get Snow to stick if if does get started. Outdoors here today we had frozen ground and good footing as the doggies and I made our trek. We did find some deep paw prints in the mud made by a obviously heavy dog before the mud froze over last night. We didn't see him but he has to be big and my little Missy has her fur sticking up on her back and was more than ready to go hunting but I'm hoping he was just passing through. The Deer population is getting up before we do these days but I did hear some Turkeys this morning. Now we've apparently got to get some more Bird Seed for the Feeder today and Winter still has a few punches to throw our way so we'll do our chores and try to have a productive day. Here are the facts.

We didn't have any precipitation to report today. That helps.
Temp.25deg. and looking like mid to upper 30's today and Low 20's tonight. Maybe just a shade cooler on Saturday.

Hum.82% and we are about as dry as it gets this time of year. Maybe a couple of dry days before more Rain and or Snow. The cool Northwest wind has helped dry up the standing water in the low spots.

A mix of Sun and Clouds and Cold Temperatures with a Northwest Wind we'll see mostly upper 30's today. Cold tonight and then Snow Flurry chances gradually return for Friday. Not expecting any real accumulating Snow. There is a Snow Storm passing to the South of us here in middle Tennessee this weekend but most of the weather is expected to remain to our South with only some Flurries from time to time. Sunday night may see us get some accumulating Snow but that's still a toss up between Rain or snow or both at the present time. Outdoors once again the footing is firm but it's Cold as we tend to the chores this morning. Benji hung around the house but Missy was off for the full trip. Her little feet were Cold when we got in however. Saw a few Deer early this morning but most everybody is well in hiding as the sun is coming up a bit earlier these days. The Snow storm on the East Coast has shut down the government, I wonder if that means we're saving some money? Now for the facts.

Light Snow Falling and Cold, with a brisk Wind this morning. Flurries not expected to accumulate enough to be a problem but we will remain Cold today and tonight. Maybe a few Sunny breaks but mostly Cloudy. More Sun for Thursday but Cold. Thursday night and Friday has some Snow or possible Rain chances but not anything too significant from what we can see for the moment. The big story here today is the Cold but we're not complaining as long as it doesn't last too long. The freeze last night left us with solid footing on the Trail this morning and much needed relief from the mud. We didn't have any encounters along the way but the Cold made for some hungry puppy dogs who after they had breakfast are sleeping soundly now. The next several days and the weekend has a mix of partly Sunny days and Snow chances. It's Snowing now. It seems to be one of those years when it Snows at the drop of a hat. The Cold will persist for a few days but not as Cold as we have seen, and not likely to see any teens or single digit temperatures. Now for the facts.

We reported a Trace amount of Snow this morning but not any accumulation on the ground.
Temp.24deg. and we may make 34 degrees today with lower 20's tonight.

Rain and gray sky this morning but the Snow washed away and it's 40 degrees here in the Southern Region of Middle Tennessee. It may cool down later but no Ice problems anticipated here. There is Snow and Ice North and West of Murfreesboro. This is one of those occasions where the line dividing the warmer and colder air is very evident. Just 45 miles away from here there is a 12 degree temperature difference. That line may slowly creep our way but likely the precipitation will move on away as well. There may be some slick spots this evening however so common sense which is sometimes in short supply will be necessary. The Forecast from Nashville is not very accurate for the Southern Region this morning but the last 12 hours or so have been "complicated" by a pocket of unpredictable warm air that over took the southern counties. Shelbyville briefly had a inch of Snow last night that totally disappeared before bed time last night. I don't think it was on the ground long enough to be counted into the record. I'm not sure what the rule is. That may be a good question for Mr. Troutman at the NWS in Nashville. Outdoors here is a mess this morning. The ground is so soft that our Cast Iron Lawn Furniture in the yard is sinking into the ground. The Puppy Dog Trail is closed because of High Water and mud. Even the Birds are staying out of sight this morning. We 're still hoping for a break and some Sun on Wednesday and Thursday. Friday thru Sunday has Rain and or Snow chances. This is some more rough Winter this year. Now for the facts.

Cloudy and Cold this Monday morning. Slight chance of Snow and Sleet turning to Rain as we warm to near 42 degrees for our High today. Rain likely tonight with a Low of 35 degrees. Rain maybe mixed w/Snow but no accumulation. There is a Winter Weather Advisory for counties to our West for a inch or less of Snow today but I'm not expecting that to effect us here much. We could have a brief Snow event but warming temps. will not allow that to amount to much. It would appear that Wednesday and Thursday will be our Sunny days this week but don't look for temperatures to break much above 40 degrees. Outdoors this morning the frozen ground was firm as we trekked to the Barn and tended to the chores. I didn't see a flock but we still have a pair of Geese flying circles over the area and Honking loudly. Restocking the Bird Feeder this morning as requested by a large gathering of Finches and Cardinals. The Cold air and gentle wind has dried up some of the muck but it's really to no avail as I expect a Rain shower later. There isn't really much activity in my little part of the world currently but we did see the first Bunny Rabbit in a great while yesterday afternoon. Now for the facts.

Clouds and Drizzle with a few token Flurries thrown into the mix. This should decrease as the day progresses. Cold and only 37 degrees with a brisk Northerly wind. Sunday will feel better with 40 degrees and some Sun at least part of the day. Our next Rain and Snow event is looking to be Monday afternoon through Tuesday so our woes continue. We may get a break on Wednesday and Thursday before more weekend precipitation of some sort. A lot of the "Amateur" stations in the Virginia area up into Southern New England are silent this morning. Hope they are doing alright. We did traverse a portion of the "Trail" this morning but I turned back after seeing our Old Mr. Gray Fox poking around down by the Barn. He was well away from the Treeline and he saw us but didn't seem to be inclined to run off. I'm sure he's hunting his breakfast and he's welcome to some of our Raccoon population. Mr. Fox looks to be healthy and fed and he's a darker color than a couple of months ago. He may be a bit muddy I guess. How do I know he's a "He"? Just my intuition I guess. But I'm pretty sure he's the same one I saw in November, and I bet there is a Foxy lady somewhere in those woods. Now for the facts.
